The Park Board requires an Independent Contractor (Contractor) to provide labor for the 2010 season and be responsible to maintain landscaping and grounds at Bright Meadows, Guilford, Gladys Russell and Rullman Parks. For matters concerning any given park, the Contractor will answer directly to the individual Park Steward responsible for that park. These parks will be open from April 1 through October 31, 2010.
The Contractor is required to:
• Employ own means of transportation and determine hours of service required to perform outlined tasks. Will perform all required tasks and not subcontract work.
• Submit daily written and computer reports as defined by the board documenting daily tasks performed.
• Contractor shall carry insurance against public liability with a minimum coverage of $1,000,000. The Park Board shall be held harmless for any liability on the part of the Contractor.
• Contractor will provide proof of workman's compensation insurance and the Park Board shall be held harmless for any liability of accident and injuries sustained in connection with work performed.
• Contractor will provide proof of insurances within fourteen (14) days of signing a contract.
Matters of a generic nature or requiring resolution of conflicting demands should be referred to the board president.• Submit daily written and computer reports as defined by the board documenting daily tasks performed.
Persons bidding to fulfill this contract may bid, if they choose, based on contractor owned equipment, however, the advantage will likely fall to those proposing to provide labor only. The Park Board will provide Contractor's bidding labor only with the necessary equipment, including a tractor, a bush hog and finish mower, a zero turn mower, weed eater, fuel, and other such tools and materials as may be required to maintain grounds, restrooms, and other park facilities. While the winning contractor will not be responsible for substantive maintenance or repair of Park Board furnished equipment, reasonable care and due diligence in keeping this equipment in good working order is required and abuse of this equipment will be cause for termination of the contract. If at any time, either party finds that conditions have developed that require contract termination, fourteen (14) days written notice of intent will be provided.
